Nashville, TN: November 14, 2009 - The Women's
Horse Industry Association's first annual conference was
a huge success with people coming from all around the
country and even Australia and Canada. Everyone who
attended the event came away with many new business
contacts and even lifelong friends. Many also did
business right on the spot.
The conference was organized
in less than two months but put together so well that
many who attended were delightfully surprised. "This was
the first time I've been to a horse industry event where
everyone from all disciplines worked together. It was
refreshing to see hunter/jumper/western folks working
with thoroughbred owners. Everyone really got along
well. It just goes to show you that our association is
just what the horse industry needed: an association that
brings all of the various horse disciplines together,"
stated Randi Thompson, owner of Horse and Rider
Awareness.
Catherine Masters, the Executive Director and Founder of the association says she was very pleased with the overall quality of the attendees, speakers and exhibitors. "There was something in that room for everyone. And, a lot of really great information was given out by our speakers. It was really great watching everyone network and do business.I couldn't be happier with the overall tone and success of the event." And, based on the huge success of the event the stage has been set for the 2nd Annual Conference.
The 2nd annual Women's Horse Industry Association's conference will be held again in Louisville, Kentucky. The two day event will be held September 22-23, 2010 at the Crowne Plaza Airport Hotel.
"We wanted to coincide with the World Equestrian Games which start September 25th. Many of our members from Canada, Europe and Australia will be attending the games and by hosting it just a couple of days before they start, we can make it easier for them to attend. It also gives our US members an opportunity to attend both,"states Debby Lening, VP of the WHIA. Registration, sponsorship and exhibit space fees will be listed on the website soon. "Because of our success with our first conference we expect to have hundreds of people at this event." Masters adds.
The Women's Horse Industry was formed on June 25, 2009 and already has over 575 members in the U.S., Canada, Australia, the UK and Germany. For information on the Women's Horse Industry Association, please visit
